Katya Dovlatova

The daughter of Sergei Dovlatov, Katherine (Katya) Dovlatova studied Russian Literature at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at UCL. Translating her father’s Pushkin Hills was her first attempt at literary translation.

Martin Sorrell

Martin Sorrell read French and Spanish at Oxford, then did research into modern French poetry at Kent. He has worked in the French Department at Exeter University for most of his career. His translations of poetry (Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine, contemporary French women poets, Lorca, etc.) and drama (Moliere, Obaldia) have been published widely; currently he is translating a selection of Apollinaire’s poems for OUP. Sorrell has also written radio plays, stories and poetry features for the BBC.
